Sports Top College Basketball Coaches on Building a Successful Team

We sat down with three head coaches – Coach Ed Cooley (Providence), Frank Martin (South Carolina Gamecocks) and John Beilein (Michigan Wolverines) – to discuss their leadership styles and how they inspire greatness year after year, and not just on game days.

There’s greatness in all of us, says Coach Cooley, Head Coach of the Providence Friars. And that greatness, brought out in combination with others, creates dynamite teams, whether in an arena, on a court, or in an office.

Last month, in Uncasville, CT., top college basketball teams from across the country converged at the annual Basketball Hall of Fame Tip-Off Tournament. Eight teams showcased their talent in a series of games that kicked off the upcoming season.

The Basketball Hall of Fame Tip-Off teams are made up of gifted, committed athletes who inspire fans every day with a drive to succeed on and off the court. But behind every great team, there is an even greater leader.
